A fragment of Vitaliy Dribnytsya’s dispute “The Regular Fact-Checker”: the Battle of Orsha in 1514, in which the Lithuanian-Ruthenian army under Grand Hetman of Lithuania Kostiantyn Ostrozky utterly routed the Muscovite regiments. Dribnytsya presents it as an episode in the unbroken Muscovite-Lithuanian wars of the late 15th — early 16th century — a concrete instance of the argument that Moscow won the Rus’ lands by war rather than “inheriting” them.
