What They Peddle: the Civil War and the Myth of the 'Genocide of the Russian People' (05.12.2021)

Three street chat-roulette conversations of Vitaliy Dribnytsya with Russian-speaking interlocutors. The first is about the civil war: why Ukrainian nationalists did not ally with the White Guards — Denikin’s Volunteer Army did not recognize Ukraine; and about the Sich Riflemen as the core of the UNR army. In the third, the interlocutor defends the “genocide of the Russian people” narrative, citing the book “War of Extermination. The Third Reich and the Genocide of the Soviet People” — whose title, however, reads “Soviet,” not “Russian.” A source for the articles on the Ukrainian Revolution of 1917–1921 and the cult of the “Great Victory.”
